The electric Countryman followed in March 2024, after the production of the combustion engined versions that had started in November 2023, and third generation Countryman production began in early 2024 at the BMW plant in Leipzig, Germany. The Mini Crossover name, used for it in Japan, was dropped in 2024. The Countryman was available in four trim levels. The battery electric Countryman was built next to the combustion version at Leipzig.
