The R60 was the first Countryman, shown as the Crossover Concept at the 2008 Paris Motor Show and as a production car at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, with UK sales from 18 September 2010. It was larger than any earlier BMW era Mini and the first built wholly outside the United Kingdom, primarily by Magna Steyr at Graz in Austria. A facelift followed in 2014 and the John Cooper Works version went on sale in autumn 2012. Its model years run from 2010 to 2016.
