The Clubman in 2021 was in its sixth year of the second generation, a subcompact estate built at Plant Oxford with front or all wheel drive. It had been introduced at the Frankfurt show in 2015 with a Clubman Vision GT design from 2014, and over its life with the first generation the Clubman had sold well over half a million units from the BMW era. It sold in smaller numbers than the Hatch and Countryman.
