For 1963 the Monterey underwent a substantial revision to its roofline, reintroducing the retractable rear window used by the Continental and the Turnpike Cruiser, named Breezeway, standard on all non convertible Montereys and S-55s. Mercury also introduced the Marauder as a 1963 and a half trim package, mating the Monterey body with a semi fastback roof. The Ford Motor Company of Canada also offered the Mercury 400 for 1963.
