1974 Mercury Capri

Automobiles

For 1974 five mile per hour bumpers were fitted to both the front and rear of the Capri, replacing the chrome tube bumpers with reinforced body colored plastic bumpers. The V6 was enlarged to 2.8 liters for 1974, as Ford revised the castings for both the engine block and cylinder heads. The Capri was a sport compact marketed by Lincoln Mercury without divisional branding. The Capri was a captive import built by Ford of Europe in Cologne, Germany, and sold with no Ford or Mercury branding.
