A facelift in September 2005 brought a five speed automatic and a six speed manual gearbox, standard 16 or 17 inch alloy wheels and small bodywork changes. North American V6 models changed to an Aisin six speed automatic for the 2005 model year. The sedan won the Canadian Car of the Year award for best new family car, the Sport Wagon had won the wagon prize, and Wheels magazine gave the car its Active Safety award in July.
