Sales of the Verisa ended at the end of March 2016, when the registration of all the unregistered cars left as distribution stock was completed, after a sales period of about eleven years and nine months. There was no successor, and the car was merged into the fourth generation Demio, later the Mazda2, and the CX-3, which shared its platform. The Verisa of 2016 was thus only the last months of sales stock. The name Verisa was created by combining the Italian word verita, meaning truth, with the English word satisfaction.
