On 1 April 2014 the prices of the Verisa were revised to reflect the consumption tax of eight percent. The Verisa of 2014 was in its eleventh year without a model change, a continuation that the Japanese article puts at over eleven years from its launch, with small improvements and special editions, and sold as a Japan only compact car with a 1.5 liter engine and an automatic transmission. The Verisa was built on the Mazda DY platform, as was the Demio.
