The 1995 model year was the last of the FD in the United States, with an estimated 500 cars built, and the Touring package was replaced by the PEP, a popular equipment package. Mazda Australia introduced the RX-7 SP, with an initial run of 25 cars and a later 10, for racing homologation, and it won the 1995 Eastern Creek 12 Hour. Sales in most of Europe ended after 1995 because of the Euro 2 emissions rules. In Japan the FD3S production was grouped into six numbered models by date.
