2023 Mazda MX-30

Automobiles

The plug-in hybrid MX-30 was presented on 14 January 2023, with a single rotor 830 cc Wankel engine acting as a range extender to recharge the batteries, the first Mazda rotary engine in front wheel drive since the Luce R130. The MX-30 was launched in Singapore on 16 January and sold in Japan from November 2023 as the Rotary Plug-in Hybrid. In July 2023 it was discontinued in the United States because of slow sales. It has clamshell freestyle doors of the kind used on the rotary engined RX-8.
