The battery electric MX-30 reached Japan in January 2021 with EV, EV Basic Set and EV Highest Set trims, Australia in April with Evolve, Touring and Astina trims, New Zealand in May, and the United States in August 2021, where sales were limited to California as a low range compliance car. It was on the 10 Best list of the 2020 to 2021 Car of the Year Japan awards. The MX-30 uses MacPherson strut front suspension and torsion beam rear suspension.
