The CX-80 was officially revealed on 18 April 2024, with pre sales to begin in May and deliveries in the second half of the year. It was launched in New Zealand on 22 October 2024 in SP Hybrid, SP Plug-in Hybrid and Homura Plug-in Hybrid variants, and in Australia on 12 November 2024 in Pure, Touring, GT and Azami trims. It is the three row car built on the shorter CX-60. It sits on Mazda's Large Product Group platform with a longitudinal engine and rear biased all wheel drive.
