In 2025 the entry level Sport trim, with the 2.5 liter Skyactiv-G petrol engine and rear wheel drive, was added to the Japanese range in July. The Australian line up was updated in May, and in August the 2.5 liter G25 rear wheel drive petrol was introduced in Australia for the Pure, Evolve and Touring trims. The CX-60 was launched in Malaysia in September 2025, alongside the CX-80. The car was built in Japan. It is paired with an eight speed automatic transmission that uses a wet clutch in place of a torque converter.
