Triumph TR-X was the name given to a series of prototype concept cars built by the Triumph Motor Company. First shown in 1950, it was the first Triumph automobile to be called a TR, though a much more luxurious car than the roadsters that followed; early printed material called it the Triumph Roadster, and the name stood for TRiumph eXperimental. It was also known as the Silver Bullet. Triumph traditional body panel suppliers, Fisher and Ludlow and Mulliners, were not equipped to press its aluminium body and declined to build it, and it carried an electro-hydraulic servosystem engineered by Leslie Ireland that powered several convenience features. Its public debut was at the Paris Auto Show in October 1950.
