Peugeot 607

The Peugeot 607 is an executive car that the French manufacturer Peugeot produced from September 1999 to June 2010, launched in October 1999 to replace the discontinued 605. It used its predecessor's chassis under an all-new, more modern exterior, and its engine range of 2.2 and 3.0 litre petrol units and a 2.2 litre diesel was completely new. All models had air conditioning, a CD player, electric windows, eight airbags, anti-lock brakes, a tyre-pressure monitor and central locking as standard, and AMVAR nine-stage electronic damping control was available. It was built at Sochaux until March 2009, when assembly moved to the Rennes plant of PSA as production wound down. It was restyled in November 2004 with a new front end and a 2.7 HDi V6 engine of 150 kW, and it was withdrawn from the United Kingdom in 2008. In France it was often chosen for official government use, and the Paladine landaulet built with Heuliez in 2000 was used by President Nicolas Sarkozy for his inauguration in 2007.
