Nissan Gloria

The Gloria is a large luxury car made from 1959 by the Prince Motor Company and later by Nissan after the two firms merged, so it was first sold as the Prince Gloria and then as the Nissan Gloria. It was based at first on the smaller Prince Skyline and started with an 80 PS 1.9 litre GB-30 four-cylinder engine in February 1959, followed by the GB-4 inline-four and the first six-cylinder Prince engine. After Nissan took over Prince, Glorias were sold alongside the Skyline through the Nissan Prince Shop dealer network. The Gloria line was merged with the Nissan Cedric starting with the 1971 models, and both continued until 2004, when they were replaced by the Nissan Fuga. Its name was inspired by the Latin word for glory.
