The second-generation Mitsubishi Dignity, code BHGY51, revived the nameplate on 26 April 2012 as a rebadged rear-wheel-drive, fifth-generation Nissan Cima for Japanese customers only. As with the first generation, the Akishino branch of Japan's Imperial family used it as official cars. It is slightly taller but narrower and shorter than the first generation and 200 kg lighter. The article calls it Mitsubishi's first hybrid electric model sold in Japan and says it met the 2005 emission standards with a 75 percent reduction, although it also says the Pure Drive and Hybrid badge is not fitted. The only engine was Nissan's 3.5 litre VQ35HR V6 and the only trim the VIP, equal to the Cima VIP G, with no all-wheel drive option, a lattice rear window screen and the CarWings navigation system. Only 98 were sold between July 2012 and February 2015, and the nameplate ended in November 2016.
