The Lagonda Taraf is a full-size luxury saloon that Aston Martin produced in 2015 and 2016 under its revived Lagonda marque, designed by Marek Reichman and developed from February 2014 under the codename Project Comet by the company's Q division at Gaydon in Warwickshire. It debuted in Dubai in November 2014, and its name means ultimate luxury in Arabic. The car uses the vertical and horizontal platform shared with the DB9 and Rapide but swaps the Rapide's pressed aluminium body for a carbon fibre exterior, and it carries a 5.9 litre V12 engine producing 547 PS with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, good for 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and a maximum speed of 314 km/h. Planned as a run of 100 cars for the Middle East, it was opened to Europe, the United States, Singapore and South Africa and priced above one million US dollars, and 120 were built before manufacture ceased at the end of 2016.
