After its 1985 revision, sales of the Town Car model line increased to over 100,000 vehicles per year, partly following the negative market response to Cadillac's front wheel drive downsizing. The 302 cubic inch V8 remained the only engine, although in Canada it remained carbureted until 1985. The Town Car was the best selling Lincoln, longer than any other Ford, and was assembled at Wixom, Michigan. Its 302 cubic inch V8 was marketed as a 5.0 liter engine.
