Production of the Continental ended on 30 October 2020, without a replacement for the full size sedan segment. The tenth generation Continental had sold from the fall of 2016, and its 3.0 liter twin turbo V6, exclusive to the Continental and the MKZ, was the highest horsepower engine ever fitted to a production Lincoln sedan. It also marked the end of a name used from the 1940 model year, through ten generations.
