After a fourteen year gap the tenth generation Continental went on sale in the fall of 2016, previewed by a concept at the 2015 New York show. The 2017 Continental succeeded the Lincoln MKS and was manufactured at Ford's Flat Rock plant, on an extended wheelbase variant of the CD4 platform shared with the Taurus. All wheel drive was offered for the first time, with a standard 305 horsepower 3.7 liter V6, a 335 horsepower 2.7 liter twin turbo and a 400 horsepower 3.0 liter twin turbo.
