For model year 1993 the output of the Continental's 3.8 liter V6 rose to 160 horsepower. An Individual Seats group was available for 1993, built from 1992 production, which ditched the chrome column shifter and the split bench of the comfort lounge in favor of bucket seats and a console. The Continental now had a driver and passenger air bag as standard equipment, and a transmission able to handle its torque.
