1991 Land Rover Discovery

Automobiles

In April 1991 the Discovery reached Australia, at first only as a three-door estate with the 3.5-litre V8i engine of 154 horsepower; in October Land Rover added the five-door in base V8i and luxury HL versions, together with the Tdi diesel rated at 111 horsepower. In the Republic of Ireland, where commercial models fall in a much lower tax band, the first Discovery Commercial van was launched in 1991. Switzerland received the Country Life, a 50-unit special edition with leather and wood trim.
