In November 2020 a facelift for the fifth-generation Discovery was launched, debuting as a 2021 model, and the larger engine range was changed with the arrival of a 3.0-litre straight-six diesel. The Defender had also been moved to the Slovakian plant that built the Discovery. The Defender was moved to the Slovakian plant, where the Discovery was already built, and the old Defender was by then long gone.
