The shorter Ninety joined the One Ten in 1984, with a wheelbase of 92.9 inches despite its name. Wind-up windows replaced the sliding panels of the first 110s, and a 2.5-litre diesel with 68 horsepower, an enlarged version of the old 2.25-litre unit, was introduced. A lower-compression version of the 3.5-litre Range Rover V8 improved performance, first in the 110 with the Range Rover LT95 gearbox and later with a Santana five-speed. The part-time four-wheel-drive option that had been offered at first failed to sell and was dropped by 1984.
