The roll cage was extended in 1992 to allow for rear shoulder belts. The Brampton plant that had built the YJ closed on 23 April 1992, ending production in Canada, and 1992 Sahara Wranglers were featured in the 1993 film Jurassic Park. Production of the Wrangler moved to Toledo, Ohio, where the Wrangler has been built since, and the extended roll cage allowed rear shoulder belts to be fitted. It was the sixth model year of the YJ.
