The fourth Wrangler, the JL, was unveiled at the Los Angeles auto show on 29 November 2017 and went into production that month at Jeep's Toledo plant. Its styling recalls the 1997 to 2006 TJ with a raked front grille, and it is offered as the two door Wrangler and the four door Wrangler Unlimited. Later additions included the 4xe plug in hybrid, a 3.0 liter diesel, a V8 Rubicon, and a mid cycle refresh for 2024. The Gladiator pickup is based on it. Its model years begin in 2018.
