A V8 powered version of the Rubicon trim level debuted for the 2021 model year, the Wrangler Rubicon 392. The JL continued in two door Wrangler and four door Unlimited forms, with the 4xe plug in hybrid in the range. The V8 Rubicon was named the Rubicon 392 and was added to the lineup beside the 3.6 liter Pentastar V6, the 2.0 liter turbo, the 3.0 liter diesel and the 4xe plug in hybrid. It was the fourth year of the JL.
