The 2009 Honda S2000 was the last model year. Honda carried over the standard and Club Racer versions unchanged for 2009, but sales fell in the 2008 automotive industry crisis and the S2000 was cancelled partway through the model year, so only 355 US cars were built for 2009, 31 of them Club Racers. The Japanese Type S carried on, and in Europe the Ultimate Edition, shown at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, and the UK only GT Edition 100 of 100 cars in white with red leather closed out production. The article gives 19 August 2009 and also June 2009 as when production ended, and the final official production total was 113,889.
