Honda assembled the second-generation North American Odyssey, chassis RL1, first in Canada as a 1999 model for the North American market, and exported it to Japan as the LaGreat. It grew considerably over its predecessor, switched to sliding rear doors in place of hinged ones, used simpler front strut suspension and a 210 hp V6, and kept the third row seat that folds into the floor. In late 2001 it received a significant increase in power to 240 hp for the 2002 model year. Each model year of this generation has its own page.
