1999 Honda Odyssey (North America)

Automobiles

The 1999 Honda Odyssey was the first model year of the second generation, assembled in Canada and larger than its predecessor, with sliding rear doors, a 210 hp V6 engine and two sliding doors as standard, power on the EX and manual on the LX. The television campaign evoked moments from the film 2001: A Space Odyssey. The 4 speed automatic transmission in the 1999 to 2001 models had serious durability problems, and the Isuzu Oasis continued for another year after the Odyssey was redesigned for 1999. The Odyssey was exported to Japan as the LaGreat.
