The 2000 Honda Odyssey was the first Honda to get a five speed automatic transmission, though only with the 3.0 liter engine, as four cylinder versions had the four speed automatic. The second generation gearboxes featured a tiptronic like manual mode known as Honda S-matic. The interior was completely new, with the automatic column shifter moved to the centre console and a new touchscreen based digital climate control system working in conjunction with Honda's new navigation system. In Australia the 2000 sales total was the benchmark, and 2003 sales of only 649 units came to nearly a third of it.
