The Honda Odyssey was facelifted in August 1997, which retired the Exclusive grade, and in October 1997 the Prestige model in VG and VZ grades took its place. The original 2.2 liter engine was replaced in August 1997 by a slightly larger 2.3 liter version offering 150 PS, and in October 1997 the 200 PS V6 engine became an option in the domestic market. The Odyssey had sold over 300,000 units by September 1997, which made it Honda's quickest selling new car.
