Honda launched the Odyssey Hybrid on 4 February 2016, in Japan, with a 2.0 liter petrol hybrid engine, and sales began on 5 February 2016. Honda gave the name Sport Hybrid i-MMD to the new hybrid system, and the power control unit is 23 percent smaller and 27 percent lighter than the one in the Accord Hybrid. Dongfeng Honda launched the Elysion, a vehicle based on the Odyssey, in China on 9 January 2016.
