Indonesia became the second country to get the first generation Honda Freed after Japan, with a launch on 29 June 2009. Honda Prospect Motor assembled it at its Karawang plant and exported it to other Southeast Asian markets. For the Indonesian market the Freed uses the 7 seater layout and a 5 speed automatic transmission instead of the CVT of the Japanese domestic market version, with ground clearance 20 mm higher.
