The first generation Honda Amaze debuted in India in April 2013, manufactured at Honda's facilities in Greater Noida and Rajasthan with a claimed localisation level of more than 90 percent. It was the first Indian Honda model to offer a diesel engine option, the 1.5 liter N15A1 turbo diesel, developed around excise rules that offer lower taxes for sub 4 metre cars with engine displacement of less than 1.5 liters. India first sold the Amaze in E, EX, S and VX grades, and Nepal launched its Amaze in June 2013.
