Honda restyled the Accord body in June 1983 to create the 1984 model, giving it a slightly downward sloping nose and a new family of 12 valve CVCC engines, among them a 1.6 liter EY and a somewhat stronger 1,829 cc ES2 that made 86 bhp in federal trim. Rear side marker lights were integrated into the tail light units, and European cars gained a side turn signal repeater. On 24 May 1984, Honda's Programmed Fuel Injection, PGM-FI, arrived in Japan on the 1.8 liter engine. The 1984 sedan came in Greek White and three metallic colours, and the LX hatchback was the only 1984 version with dual side view mirrors.
