The Peugeot 307 is a small family car built by PSA Peugeot Citroën under the Peugeot marque from 2001 to 2008 in Europe, as the successor to the Peugeot 306. It was announced as the 307 Prométhée prototype at the 2000 Mondial de l'Automobile, and the production hatchback reached European markets on 26 April 2001. Built on the PSA PF2 platform, it won the European Car of the Year title for 2002. Its height of 1,510 mm leads some to regard it as a low compact MPV rather than a tall small family car. After launching as a three and five door hatchback it gained the 307 Break and 307 SW estates in February 2002, the 307 CC retractable hardtop cabriolet in August 2003 and a four door saloon for China in June 2004, and it stayed on sale in China and parts of South America through 2014.
