Peugeot 208

The Peugeot 208 is a supermini car from Peugeot, unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2012 and positioned below the larger 308. It replaced the Peugeot 207, and a second generation followed in 2019. The first generation, codenamed A9 and built on the PSA PF1 platform, was designed by a team under Pierre Authier, who also designed the first Peugeot 2008. It began as a three door hatchback made at Trnava in Slovakia from November 2011, with five door cars following in June 2012 and production also starting at Mulhouse and Poissy in France. The car was 110 kg lighter on average than the 207 and had a drag coefficient of 0.29. The performance 208 GTi arrived in September 2012 with a 1.6 litre turbocharged petrol engine of 147 kW, and the first generation was built in Brazil from January 2013 to March 2020.
