The Peugeot 206 is a supermini car in the B segment, designed and produced by the French maker Peugeot from 1998 to 2024 as the replacement for the Peugeot 205. It was developed under the codename T1 and released in September 1998 as a hatchback, followed by the 206 CC coupé cabriolet in September 2000, the 206 SW station wagon in September 2001 and, in September 2005, a sedan called the 206 SD that was made and sold in Iran. A facelifted version appeared in South America and China in 2008 as the 207 Compact and in Europe in 2009 as the 206+. With 8,358,217 cars sold by 2012, the 206 is the best-selling Peugeot model of all time.
