Mercedes-Benz B-Class (W246)

Automobiles

The W246 is the internal designation of the second generation of the Mercedes-Benz B-Class, a five-door hatchback that Daimler AG built under the Mercedes-Benz brand from late 2011 to late 2018. It was introduced at the 2011 International Motor Show Germany as a subcompact executive car, taller and more practical than the A-Class, and Euro NCAP classes it as a small MPV. Buyers could choose petrol, diesel, natural gas or a battery electric version, and the Electric Drive model, internally W242, was the first mass-produced battery electric car from Mercedes. Cars were assembled at Rastatt and, from 2011, also at Kecskemet in Hungary. The W247 replaced it after production ended in December 2018.
