The Lancia Delta is a small family car produced by the Italian automobile manufacturer Lancia in three generations: 1979 to 1994, 1993 to 1999 and 2008 to 2014. The first generation was a five-door hatchback designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro of Italdesign, debuted at the 1979 Frankfurt Motor Show and was voted European Car of the Year for 1980, and Saab sold it in Scandinavia as the Saab-Lancia 600. Lancia revised the Ritmo-derived four-cylinder engines to give 85 PS. The Delta HF 4WD and the HF Integrale, road versions of Group A rally cars, dominated the World Rally Championship with 46 victories and six constructors titles in a row from 1987 to 1992, and 44,296 Integrales were built. The first generation totalled 478,645 cars.
