The Citroën LN and the Citroën LNA are front-engine, front-drive three-door hatchback city cars that Citroën sold from 1976 to 1986 over a single generation, a badge-engineered version of the Peugeot 104 brought out soon after Peugeot took over Citroën. The LN appeared in July 1976 and joined the shortened 104 Z body to the 602 cc two-cylinder petrol engine of the 2CV, with low equipment and low running costs, aimed at southern Europe. The LNA replaced it on 6 November 1978 with the 652 cc engine of the Visa and electronic ignition, and from December 1982 a 1.1 litre four-cylinder engine gave nearly 145 km/h. An LNA Entreprise sold in France had the back seat removed for tax reasons. The Talbot Samba grew out of it, and the AX replaced it in 1986.
