Citroen C4

Automobiles

The Citroën C4 is a compact car that replaced the Xsara, with first-generation production starting in September 2004. It was shown at the 2004 Paris show on a floor shared with the Peugeot 307, in five-door hatchback and three-door coupe forms, drawn by a team including Donato Coco, Jean-Pierre Ploue and Bertrand Rapatel. Its fixed-hub steering wheel allowed a specially shaped driver airbag, and it offered lane departure warning and a perfume dispenser in the ventilation. Saloon versions were built in Argentina and sold as the C4 Pallas or C4 Sedan, and in China as the C-Triomphe and C-Quatre. The C4 Picasso MPV followed in 2006. The third generation, released in June 2020, became a coupe-style subcompact crossover. A television advert of the car transforming into a dancing robot made the model well known.
