Citroen C3

Automobiles

The Citroën C3 is a supermini that Citroën has built since April 2002 as the successor to the Saxo, now in its fourth generation. The first generation was drawn under Jean-Pierre Ploue and Donato Coco, shown at the 2001 Frankfurt show and sold from January 2002 as a five-door hatchback on the same platform as the Peugeot 206. A two-door convertible, the C3 Pluriel, ran from 2003 to 2010, and a mini MPV, the C3 Picasso, was announced in 2008. The second generation arrived in 2009 with a large windscreen, and the third and fourth generations offer a battery electric version. Citroën says the C3 name covers all its B-segment hatchbacks worldwide, including a low-cost model launched in 2021 for India and South America. Engines in the first car were 1.1, 1.4 and 1.6 litre petrol units and 1.4 and 1.6 litre diesels.
