The Chrysler Horizon, also sold as the Talbot Horizon, was a small family car sold from the 1978 to 1987 model years. Chrysler Europe designed it to replace the Simca 1100 and the Hillman Avenger and sold it under the Simca and Chrysler names, then as a Talbot after Chrysler Europe was sold to Peugeot. It was a five-door hatchback throughout, competed with the Volkswagen Golf and the later Ford Escort, and won European Car of the Year in 1979. It was Chrysler's first world car, developed alongside the American Dodge Omni and Plymouth Horizon, and the last cars came from Finland in 1987.
