In 1994 the model specific front seats of the Versailles were replaced by cheaper ones from the locally built Ford Escort. It remained a Volkswagen Santana based car with a Ford front end, sold in Brazil and also in Argentina, where it carried the name Galaxy. The Versailles was a Ford badged Volkswagen Santana sold in Brazil and Argentina during the Autolatina joint venture. A station wagon version was sold as the Ford Royale, and in Argentina the car was called the Galaxy.
