The Verona that had been discontinued in 1992 was relaunched in late 1993, now sharing its body with the third generation Orion and sold only as a four door sedan. It was offered with 1.8 litre Volkswagen AP engines, while the 1.6 litre CHT engine was dropped, and tested at 186 kilometres per hour. It was sold alongside the Volkswagen Apollo, a badge engineered twin, and it was based on the European Ford Orion. The Verona was a small family car that Ford of Brazil built with Volkswagen through their Autolatina joint venture.
