For the first time the Transit Custom van had a new semi trailing arm independent rear suspension in 2024, giving a lower floor height and better handling. The second generation was made at Ford Otosan, and Volkswagen sold a rebadged version as the Transporter. The Transit Custom was Ford's mid size van, in the Transit range between the Transit Connect and the larger Transit. Passenger versions were sold as the Tourneo Custom, and the van was developed by Ford of Europe.
