For 1975 the Torino received a number of minor improvements and was largely unchanged, with the Gran Torino Elite dropped and marketed as an independent model, the Ford Elite. Torino models adopted the Gran Torino grille and front fascia, and catalytic converters installed because of the Clean Air Act reduced power output. The Gran Torino Sport sold only 5,126, and Ford produced 195,110 Torinos for 1975, a significant drop from 1974.
